About Mike
Mike has lived a life of public service. Having grown up in Aberdeen, raised by his grandmother, who passed away when he was 12, he was forced to enter into foster care. While in high school Mike was involved in his local church as well as a camp counselor in the first year of the Edgewood Boys and Girls club in 1994. After graduating from Joppatowne High School he entered the Marine Corps as a Military Policeman. While in the Marine corps Mike received 3 meritorious promotions and received multiple awards including 3 Naval Achievement Medals. He went on to serve two tours to include a deployment in support of efforts in the former Yugoslavia. After the Marine Corps Mike ventured into business development, a field he has worked in for nearly 20 years. During this time Mike has served on the boards of multiple non-profits to include the United Way and the Arc where he was named their State Legislator of the Year for 2021.
Mike now lives outside of Bel Air, has 4 children and is married to his amazing wife Amy and is rock of the family. A former foster child, veteran, law enforcement officer, public servant, husband and father, Mike has a wide variety of experiences that have allowed him to serve everyone who lives in Harford and Cecil Counties.
Since becoming a Delegate in 2020, Mike has successfully led efforts to save the 2020 Harford County fireworks which were held at Ripken Stadium, the only ones in Northeastern Maryland. Mike has led efforts to reopen schools as early as the summer of 2020. He has defeated dozens of anti-2nd Amendment, tax increase and other legislation that harm our conservative values and negatively impact our businesses. He has served as the Legislative Liaison to both the Harford County Economic Development Advisory Board and the Harford County Chamber of Commerce. He served on the front line in Annapolis defending our Law Enforcement against anti-police legislation. Mike has been awarded the Arc Maryland 2021 Legislator of the Year for his defense of in-person education of all Maryland students who have learning disabilities and was given the highest award by CPAC, the Award for Conservative Excellence for his conservative voting record – awarded to only 8 Maryland legislators.
